Register for Ipswich Salt Marshes

The Salt Marshes of the Crane Estate in Ipswich MA are a National Historic Landmark. Their pristine condition is very close in appearance to their state in the early 1630’s as family property of the first Massachusetts Bay Colony governor. They have been the continuous subject of artistic interpretation, most famously by Martin Johnson Heade and Arthur Wesley Dow in the 19th century.

Accommodations for the Salt Marsh Workshop should be reserved at The Inn at Castle Hill. Participants are entitled to a discount off the prevailing room rates for a 5 night stay which changes periodically. In order to obtain the discount you must reserve DIRECTLY with the Inn at Castle Hill by telephone (978-412-2555) and not on line through the Inn’s website. You must mention that you are registered in the painting workshop.
